The core
Two core locations in Amsterdam
Our network core runs at NorthC Kabelweg and at NIKHEF Housing. From those two points traffic reaches the internet through AS211588, which is connected to more than 600 other networks. Splitting the core across two locations keeps the network up when something goes wrong in one place.
Greenhouse Naaldwijk
A datacenter among the greenhouses
Greenhouse Datacenters sits in the Westland, a region best known for its horticulture. It is a carrier-neutral facility a stone's throw from Rotterdam and The Hague, with a short hop to Amsterdam.

Residual heat
The heat does not just vanish into the air
A running datacenter produces heat. BIT uses the residual heat from BIT-2A to warm the adjacent BIT-MeetMe conference centre. From autumn 2026, the residual heat from BIT-2B and BIT-2C will heat homes in Ede.
Green power
Dutch wind and sun
BIT runs its datacenters entirely on green power from Dutch wind and solar energy, with cooling systems that use outside air. Those are our host's choices, and one of the reasons we are there.
